Trim Levels

The new Jeep Gladiator comes in four trim levels that roughly correspond to its Wrangler cousin. The base level is the Sport, with the Sport S as the midrange. The Overland adds luxury touches, while the Rubicon is the off-roading, top-of-the-line trim. One of the most interesting things about this pickup is that it looks like a Wrangler with a bed. That includes its removable roof, which makes the Gladiator the only convertible pickup truck on the market.

Engine

There's only one engine available on the new 2020 Jeep Gladiator: a 3.6-liter V-6 which is mated to a six-speed manual transmission to put out 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. However, you upgrade to an optional eight-speed automatic transmission.

Performance

In terms of performance, the Gladiator offers plenty of punch. The truck comes with a standard four-wheel-drive system and a 5-foot cargo bed. At the base level, the Jeep Gladiator is equipped with a Class II hitch and offers a 4,500-pound towing capacity via a four-pin or seven-pin harness with anti-sway control. Adding the Trailer Tow Package increases your towing capacity to 7,000 pounds, while opting for the Max Tow Package nets you a 4.10 axle ratio and a rough-and-tumble 7,600-pound towing capacity, easily a match for many competitors. The Rubicon gives you off-road locking front and rear differentials, a lower crawl ratio, a unique transfer case, special shock absorbers by Fox, an electronic disconnecting stabilizer bar, and special underbody skid plates and rock rails. Interior

Jeep has put extra thought into the cabin design of the Gladiator, and it shows. The instruments and controls for the infotainment and driver aid systems are easy to access and very intuitive to use. In terms of comfort, the seats are supportive and provide great visibility. Even at the base level, you'll get an eight-speaker sound system, which you can upgrade with satellite radio, smartphone app integration, and a 552-watt amp with subwoofer and nine channels.
